We have completed the first 3 weeks of school. Routines and procedures are being established and the children are adjusting to being in first grade. Behavior rules are now in effect and their first behavior slip is enclosed in today’s folder
Class News
Due to the short week and the Numero Uno Dine-Out the homework has been changed for this week. It is as follows:
Tues., Sept 4th – Spelling, Vocabulary
Wed., Sept 5th – Math, Oral Reading, Family Times, Spelling
Thurs., Sept 6th – Math, Oral Reading, Spelling, Vocabulary
The children did a great job of completing their homework last week. Please remember that all homework needs to be reviewed and signed by a parent.
Music begins this week. It will be taught by Mrs. Bocanegra with the assistance of the teachers.
Thursday, September 6th is the first Bake Sale of the school year. All items are 50 cents. If you would like your child to have a bake sale item send 50 cents in a baggy with their name on it.
School Pictures are scheduled for Tues., Sept 11th. An order form is in your folder.
School News
All Grandparents and Grandparents at heart are invited to join us at the 9:00 am Mass on Friday, September 7th. Grandparents may come to pick up their grandchildren from the classroom from 8:30 – 8:45 am and proceed to the church. After Mass there is a program for the grandparents
The Numero Uno Dine Out is tonight. This Fundraiser is to raise funds for the school and to build school community with the St. Luke families. A flyer is enclosed in the folder.
Dates to Remember
Wed., Sept 5th – Sept., Birthday Free Dress Students whose birthday is in the month of September have free dress.
Fri., Sept 7th – Lion’s Lunch
Sun., Sept. 9th – School Family Mass at 10:30 am.
Students are asked to wear their school uniforms to Mass.
On Fridays the children will be bringing home completed work from the week. Please take the time to review it with your child. These papers do not need to be returned to school.
