Ash Wednesday began the Lenten season. The Lenten theme for the first graders is “A Time to Grow and Change.” Throughout the next forty days the children will be preparing for Easter and learning how to show their love for Jesus through sacrifice.
Class News
Starting this week the first graders will do a weekly sacrifice during Lent. Today the children will chose their first Lenten sacrifice. A form will be filled out so that you will know what they have chosen to do. Please keep this form as a reminder to help them fulfill their promise to Jesus.
The First Grade Potluck and Prayer Service is Wed., March 20th at 6:30pm. All students will be participating in the Prayer Service. Also all families are asked to bring a dish for the Potluck. Mrs. Romero will be sending out an e-mail for parents to sign up for the potluck.
Please remember to sign all of your children’s homework. Many papers are being returned unsigned.
Thank you to all the parents who donated to the First Grade Bake Sale. The treats were enjoyed by all the students of the school.

The Student Council is sponsoring Pennies For Patients. Your children received boxes to fill to help raise funds for blood cancer research. Every child is asked to support this worthy cause. The last day to turn in money is Friday, March 15th.

This year for the Fiesta, the school will be in charge of supplying the Coke Booth. Every student is asked to bring in one case of soda. A case of soda is 24 cans. T/K, and Grade 1 are asked to bring in Diet Coke. Grades 2, 3, and 4 are asked to bring in Sprite. Grade 5 and 6 are asked to bring in A & W Root and Grade 7 and 8 are asked to bring in Coco Cola. Your support is greatly appreciated.
