At the masses on Sunday a second candle was lit on the Advent wreath. The lighting of the Advent Candles represents the promise of the coming of Jesus, the light of the world. During this second week of Advent let us remember to keep preparing our hearts for the coming of Jesus.
Class News
This week in Reading the children will take their first Reading Unit Test. They will be tested on vocabulary, phonics, reading and comprehension skills that they have learned in the last six weeks.
There is a Review Spelling test this week. The list is enclosed in the folder. There are no new vocabulary words or Family Times homework this week.
We will be making Gingerbread Houses with our Seventh grade pals next week. We will need candy, frosting, graham crackers, etc. to complete this project. We are asking every family to donate $2.00 to purchase these items. If you would like to donate the $2.00 please send it in an envelope with your child’s name on it by Friday, December 14th.
Please mark your calendars. The first graders will be singing on Tuesday, December 18th during the school play.
School News
Student Council is selling Candy Grams From Dec 4th - Dec 14th at recess and lunch.
The cost is 50 cents. Purchased Candy Grams will be distributed on Dec. 19th.
The school is sponsoring a Toy Drive. Families are asked to donate one unwrapped Toy valued at $10.00 or more by Friday,
December 14th.
On Dec. 18th St. Luke Catholic School is presenting The Mission. Preferred seats are being sold for $10.00. General Admission is $5.00. Each class will be singing during the play.

Please keep my family in your prayers this week. Last week my mother-in-law had a stroke and God called her home on Friday. I will be leaving early on Monday and will be off on Friday for the services.
