Accelerated Reader Program
(Explanation of Program)
1. At home the children are required to read one book per week but may read up to three books per week.
2. The children can only take tests on books listed in the AR Book List.
3. An AR book will be sent home every Monday in their folder. When they test on that book for the week another book can be sent home with your child.
4. The children must bring the AR book and the ID number on the day they test. The ID number is found on the AR book or AR book list.
5. Test will be taken in the computer lab or classroom.
6. Testing days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.
7. The children can take only one test per day.
8. The children can obtain books from the first grade library, home library, or public library.

9. Test results will be sent to you.
10. AR tests will be calculated into their reading grade.

Please note: This reading program is to help your children improve their reading fluency and comprehension skills. Every child will start at their own reading level and gradually progress to higher level books.
